The International House of New York (I-House) is a residential leadership development program for graduate students and young professionals from around the world, built on the simple yet radical notion that living in a diverse community instills a lifelong dedication to cross-cultural understanding.
For more than 100 years, I-House has created an open-minded and intellectually vibrant community where residents share and expand their worldview and form lifelong bonds. More than just a residence, I-House is a space for conversation, understanding, friendship, inspiration, sharing culture, and finding common ground.
Raegan was selected as a resident in 2015 and lived at the house until 2018. During her time there she worked in the Development Office, and was a Resident Fellow and a Women’s International Leadership Fellow. She also organized and performed at events including Salon Night, Fall Fiesta, All Nations, the WIL graduation ceremony, and various other alumni and fundraising concerts and resident-led programs.
When I-House alum Leonard Cohen passed away in 2016, Raegan was asked to produce a memorial concert in his honor. Residents and alumni performed Cohen’s music and read his poetry in more than a dozen languages, culminating in a magical candlelit rendition of Hallelujah.Raegan continues to be an active member of the I-House community as an alum, often returning to attend events, share opportunities, and network with current residents and other alumni. She has also continued to partner with the house on programs, utilizing her social impact strategy work to collaborate on events, including a tree walk for residents in 2022, and a classics conference in 2023.
