KILLING SONG
A dark comedy in piano ballad form about coming to terms with the not-so-retrospectively inevitable downfall of a relationship.
Taking inspiration from both soul and classical harmonies, Raegan strips her melodies back to the bone in this song, leaning only on piano and violin to deliver a performance that’s as big as it is delicate.
“Killing Song,” Raegan says, is about “all those little nagging problems in a relationship that you know are there but don’t want to address – because you know that killing the problems will also kill the relationship.”
" A strikingly grand performance of awareness and resilience." — NEW MUSIC WEEKLY
"The soul-pop vocals of Sealy are both soft-spoken and assertive, filling oceans between the confidence and irony of her storytelling and the emotional performance she delivers." — LEFUTUREWAVE
"Raw, vulnerable and totally relatable!" — LA MUSIC REVIEW
FEATURING THE GANG OF ANGELS
A bold and emotionally charged ballad confronting the supposed mutuality of healing and forgiveness. The song’s gospel-inspired rhythm and vocal performance create a powerful spectacle; the proclamation that forgiveness is never easy—and not always apt. Instead, “Care” dares to embrace fury. Raegan shows empathy and grace towards herself while navigating these contrasting emotions, and in doing so, creates space for others to do the same.
“‘Care’ is an anthem for the angry, a ballad for the bitter, a sonnet for the still-not-over-it,” writes Raegan. “With this song, I want to challenge the notion that you have to forgive to forget or heal or move on, or that still being angry about something makes you weak. I want to challenge the idea that being ‘strong’ means not letting things get to you. I think admitting that things get to you and soldiering on regardless is what real strength—and authenticity—looks like.”
Produced by Robin Buyer, with the energetic, cinematic contributions of the Gang Of Angels choir,“Care” is available now to stream and download on all digital platforms.
